Would you like to have you Art displayed on the digital screens around Staines this spring?

We invite budding artists of all ages and abilities from across Spelthorne to submit artwork that celebrates the creativity, diversity and vibrance of the borough to have their work exhibited on 22-23 March 2025 as part of Spelthorne Artists Unlocked.

We welcome photos, paintings and drawings. All entries will need to be submitted as either a high-quality photograph or scan of the original artwork to be considered (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF).

The public will vote for their favourite digital artwork during the weekend-long event and the winner will receive a £100 Hobbycraft voucher.

Closing date for entries is 28 February 2025.

Applicants must have a connection to Spelthorne, this includes anyone who lives, works and studies in the borough. Perhaps you have family here, grew up in the borough or you volunteer for a local organisation? If so, we want to hear from you.

More information about Spelthorne Artists Unlocked

Spelthorne Artists Unlocked will present a range of work from talented artists across Spelthorne as part of a weekend-long exhibition to include pop-up workshops, live demonstrations, performances and information on how and where to get creative locally!

The aims of Spelthorne Artists Unlocked are to:

1.     Support artists and the wider community in the borough to exhibit work in unconventional/non-traditional spaces

2.     Engage residents and visitors to the borough in high quality and diverse arts experiences

3.     Support local businesses, individuals and organisations to collaborate creatively

4.     Signpost the public to other creative events, workshops and activities taking place across the borough

Terms and conditions

Applications will not be accepted after the closing date.

Only one application per person will be accepted.

Artwork created by a person under the age of 16 years will need to be submitted by a parent/guardian on their behalf.

Applicants/parents/guardians must agree to have the full name of the artist and title of the artwork displayed alongside the digital image.

We will only use your contact email and/or telephone number to let you know if the artwork submitted has been selected to be displayed on the digital screens in Staines town centre on 22-23 March 2025 or if you are the winner of the public art competition to receive the £100 Hobbycraft gift voucher.

We can only accept artwork that is of a suitable and usable quality, so please make sure photographs are high resolution, scanned images are 300-600dpi and artwork is well lit.

We will not display artwork that is potentially harmful or contains adult themes.

We have the right to edit your image to fit the dimensions of the digital screens should your artwork be accepted.

We will endeavour to exhibit as many artworks as possible but, if necessary, have the right to determine the total number of artworks and which, depending on how many entries are received.

All digital entries displayed at the weekend-long event will be entered into the public competition to win a £100 Hobbycraft voucher.
